A visual identity for a museum exhibition on bones that invites us to look at our inner skeletal workings and how together, with body, they reflect outer bodily movement and purpose.

The Challenge

With hundreds of specimens on view, Vital Integrities is a temporary exhibition that showcases the beauty of the skeleton. The naming of the exhibit refers to the importance of bones to the living body as well as how a skeleton informs of the movement and responsibility of living beings that are being upheld on our shared planet.

The Solution

An identity system was designed to reflect how bone and body can work together in unison by having both occupy a single line of type. When incorporating photography, the font denoting bone becomes the focus. The condensed serif typeface is meant to communicate beauty as well as uprightness and virtue in the way beings of the animal kingdom go about their lives.
